How long have you been quilting?
I have been quilting for 15 years, but I actually learned to sew about 40 years ago.  I say I am a quilter, however, I actually adore the piecing process and really struggle with the quilting process.  That's what my credit card and the long-arm quilters are for, right?

What’s your favorite quilt pattern/fabric?
My favorite patterns combine piecing and machine appliqué techniques.  I love all different fabrics and colors.

Why did you join the board of directors for WQI?
Linda Schubert and I attended our first WQI gathering in February of 2007 so we could hear Susan Cleveland's lecture and take her workshop.  We were very impressed with the WQI organization and wanted to become a part of the body of people who are involved in the decision making and planning processes.  Also, Nora's delicious lunches at the meetings were great incentive to join!!

What are some of the things you do as a board member for WQI?
I am Co-Chair of the Membership committee.  Membership processes all the membership forms, including renewals and reminders.  We maintain the computer database.  We also collect, deposit and maintain records of the membership dues.  We are in charge of compiling and publishing the annual Membership Directory.

What is your favorite thing about WQI?

My favorite thing about WQI are the friendships I have made and the inspiration I get from other quilters.  I also love being able to attend the wonderful programs and workshops our program committee works so hard to put together.  I have learned so much since joining WQI!
