Wisconsin Quilters, Inc.

Maribeth Schmit

Maribeth has been sewing since the age of 8. In the beginning, she sewed clothing for her Barbie and troll dolls. Later, in high school, she took up the quilting needle and hasn’t put it down since. Maribeth loves quilting by hand or machine and is particularly fond of Welsh and Durham quilts.
She has been on the WQI Board for several years serving as Director, door prize coordinator, Teacher Sales Coordinator, Recording Secretary and Web Goddess. She has also served 4 years on the Wisconsin Quilt History Project Board and is a member of  Never Say Die Quilters, West Suburban Quilters and It's A Stitch Quilt Guild.  Maribeth is also a quilting instructor, lecturer and NQA Certified Quilt Judge.  When not quilting, she can be found researching Luxembourg genealogy. She and her husband, Chris, have 3 active boys and a cat. They live in historic Cedarburg, WI.
